CA Raw Count Map (Description)This map illustrates the LEP counties of California with pie charts of the top five LEP counties: Los Angeles County-Dark Brown Shading Orange County-Brown Shading Riverside County-Brown Shading San Diego County-Brown Shading Santa Clara County-Brown Shading Each county is color shaded to indicate the total number of limited English proficient (LEP) persons in the county. We have defined LEP persons as individuals five years and over who speak a language other than English at home and who have indicated that they speak English less than very well (LVW). For each of the top five LEP counties, we have provided a pie chart that breaks down the top five languages spoken in the county (according to the total number of each language spoken) with the remaining languages in a sixth category called “All Other Languages”. We have defined LEP persons as individuals five years or older who speak a language other than English at home and who have indicated that they speak English less than very well (LVW).
