Description of US CAPIL Maps
US % CAPI LEP Map (Description)
This US map illustrates all 50 states:
Each state is color shaded to indicate the percent of limited English proficient (LEP) persons who speak an Asian Pacific Islander (API) language in the state. We have defined LEP persons as individuals 5 years and over who speak a language other than English at home and who have indicated that they speak English less than very well (LVW).
Percentages:
The colors correspond to percentage of CAPI LEP individuals in the state as follows:
Light Yellow: (<=5%)
Pale Orange: (>5% AND <=10%)
Orange: (>10% AND <=20%)
Dark Orange: (>20% AND <=30%)
Brown: (>30% AND <=50%)
Dark Brown: (>50%)
