NJ Raw Count Map (Description)This map illustrates the LEP counties of New Jersey with pie charts of the top five LEP counties: Bergen County-Dark Orange Shading Essex County-Dark Orange Shading Hudson County-Dark Orange Shading Middlesex County-Dark Orange Shading Union County-Dark Orange Shading Each county is color shaded to indicate the total number of limited English proficient (LEP) persons in the county. We have defined LEP persons as individuals five years and over who speak a language other than English at home and who have indicated that they speak English less than very well (LVW). For each of the top five LEP counties, we have provided a pie chart that breaks down the top five languages spoken in the county (according to the total number of each language spoken) with the remaining languages in a sixth category called “All Other Languages”.
